Data Storage and Transfer

Sygnology prioritizes the security of your data in both storage and transit. By utilizing Amazon Web Solutions' (AWS) data storage in the cloud, your data is kept safe while providing an easy data transfer process and protected access for us to extract actionable information.

Amazon's cloud object storage is a service that offers industry-leading scalability, data availability, security, and performance. Customers of all sizes and industries use it to store and protect any amount of data for a range of use. It is designed for data durability, and stores data for millions of applications for companies all around the world. Copies of all objects are stored across multiple systems, protecting against failures, errors, and threats. This ensures that the integrity of your data is consistent and available when needed. Safeguards include secure access permissions, Cross-Region Replication, versioning, and a functioning regularly tested backup.

All stored data is secured from unauthorized access with encryption features and access management tools. All public access to data is blocked at the bucket or account level and Amazon maintains compliance programs to meet regulatory requirements. Extra security is provided using both server-side encryption to encrypt data stored at rest and client side encryption for data uploads. Using AWS has allowed Sygnology to configure specific, private access policies to control permissions for all data objects.

Online data transfer using the AWS DataSync makes transmitting your data easy and efficient, no matter the quantity. DataSync service simplifies, automates, and accelerates moving data between on-premises storage systems and AWS Storage services, as well as between AWS Storage services. This system helps by automatically handling or eliminating many formerly manual tasks. DataSync provides built-in security capabilities such as encryption of data in-transit, and data integrity verification in-transit and at-rest. It optimizes use of network bandwidth, and automatically recovers from network connectivity failures. In addition, DataSync provides control and monitoring capabilities such as data transfer scheduling and granular visibility into the transfer process through Amazon CloudWatch metrics, logs, and events. DataSync automates both the management of data transfer processes and the infrastructure required for high-performance, secure data transfer.
